St. Mary's Church 135th Anniversary - Sept 30th,  2007 -
From the bulletin by Fr. Pierre: "This weekend, parishioners and friends at Saint Mary's commemorated the 135th anniversary of the founding of our parish. This is a joyous occasion and a wonderful opportunity to look back on the faithful witness of generations of our ancestors, as they fashioned a Catholic presence in the midst of a decidedly Protestant settlement. Saint Mary's actually began as a mission in 1850, and was periodically served by Exeter, Newmarket & Great Falls (Somersworth). As I count it, I am the sixteenth pastor in the history of the parish!"

Easter Triduum ~  Mar. 31, 2007 - A letter in the mail from Fr. Pierre

Pie Jesu ~ Mar 28, 2007 - is a motet that is a part of some composers' musical settings of the Requiem Mass. Those by Gabriel Fauré, Antonín Dvo?ák, Maurice Duruflé, John Rutter, Luigi Cherubini, and Andrew Lloyd Webber include a Pie Jesu. It does not form part of the Ordinary of the Mass, and is not found in all composers' settings.
The words combine paraphrases of the final verse of the thirteenth-century poem Dies Irae and the seventh-century Agnus Dei:
Pie Jesu, pie Jesu, pie Jesu, pie Jesu
Qui tollis peccata mundi
Dona eis requiem, dona eis requiem
Pie Jesu, pie Jesu, pie Jesu, pie Jesu
Qui tollis peccata mundi
Dona eis requiem, dona eis requiem

Pie Jesu Domine, dona eis requiem. Dona eis requiem sempiternam.
("O sweet Lord Jesus, grant them rest; grant them everlasting rest.")
